Latest Plans
The National Park Service has begun construction of 30" high barrier walls that will encircle the Monument 400 feet out from its base. There will be only four openings to allow pedestrian access. The Park Service has said it may have to restrict future large gatherings on this historically open public space.
"The walls are indicated in bold yellow forming an oval shape around the Monument. Red arrows indicate future pedestrian circulation patterns."(Plans and section courtesy of the National Park Service)
